A Maryland woman sent her husband out to buy a lottery ticket and the Powerball ticket he brought home turned out to be a $50,000 winner.
The Burtonsville woman told Maryland Lottery she was having dinner at home when she felt an urge to buy a Powerball ticket, so she sent her husband out to buy one.
The husband returned home with $20 worth of quick pick tickets, and the very last line ended up matching four white balls in the Dec. 8 drawing for a $50,000 prize.
The woman said she called her husband at work to share the news.
“You need to sit down for this one,” she recalled telling him.
The winner said some of her prize money will go toward taking a family vacation with her husband and grandchildren.
