Local authorities and wildlife officials in Minnesota came to the rescue of a young deer that wandered into a levee system and became stuck.
The Chaska Police Department responded alongside the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Chaska Public Works personnel when the fawn was spotted in the levee system on Monday.
The rescuers determined the fawn was unable to climb the slippery slope of the levee.
The deer was captured using nets and released into the nearby woods, where the fawn’s mother had been seen earlier.
“Turns out the levee was no place for a Bambi. Thankfully, our crews knew the way out,” police said.
