The proprietor of a sandwich shop in England attempted a Guinness World Record by spending 42 consecutive hours singing Christmas songs.
Dave Purchase, aka “Mr. Toasty” of the On Toast sandwich shop, closed the store inside Gloucester’s Warehouse 4 so he could attempt the record for the longest marathon singing Christmas songs, which was previously set at 40 hours by Confidence Survival Eyong in Nigeria in 2024.
Purchase’s 38 songs included traditional classics like “Jingle Bells,” as well as more modern Christmas hits from Mariah Carey and Wham. He rotated through the tunes and finished after singing 684 songs.
He was joined at various points in his attempt by a dementia choir, a children’s choir and festive locals.
