Mark Harmon will return to the world of NCIS in NCIS: Origins Season 3.
Harmon, who starred as Leroy Jethro Gibbs for 18 seasons of NCIS, will reprise the character in the upcoming season of Origins.
Origins is a prequel series following a younger Gibbs (Austin Stowell) as he begins his career at the Naval Investigative Service in the 1990s. Harmon narrates each episode and serves as an executive producer on the show.
In Season 3, Harmon will appear as Gibbs in each episode “as part of a present-day mystery tied to his ’90s Camp Pendleton days in an action-packed story that unfolds all season long,” an official synopsis reads.
CBS confirmed the news on Instagram.
