Illinois officials revealed some of the personalized license plate applications that were rejected in 2025, including plates reading “IBPOOPN” and “ICUP.”
Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias appeared in a video posted to his office’s official YouTube channel to share some of the year’s rejected vanity plates.
Giannoulias said the state fielded nearly 56,000 applications for vanity plates during the year, and more than 550 were rejected for being “inflammatory, profane, offensive or too difficult to read.”
“Some of the rejected plates included ‘BBL,’ which apparently stands for ‘Brazilian butt lift, which had to be explained to me,” Giannoulias says in the video.
Other rejected plates included “BLUBALN,” “IBPOOPN,” “BRICKED,” “ICUP,” “SNDNUSZ” and “BDASMOM.”
Another rejected plate reads: “PRIUSSY.”
“If this is how you refer to your Prius, there’s a show on TLC for you,” Giannoulias says.
The secretary of state ended the video with advice for anyone seeking a personalized plate.
“Go ahead and get creative, but keep it clean and avoid ending up on the naughty list,” Giannoulias said.
