White peahen captured after several days on the loose in Ohio

Animal control officers in Ohio announced they successfully captured a white peahen seen flying around Cuyahoga County for several days.

Brooklyn & Parma Heights Animal Control said on social media that the peahen, a female peacock, was captured Tuesday night.

“This beautiful white peacock was on her way to her new life in Florida when she got loose from her owner. After a few days flying around the community, she was safely captured tonight and returned to her very gracious owners. Thank you to everyone to helped get her home safe,” the post said.

Animal control officers had been caught on camera attempting to capture the peafowl behind a Beverly Drive home earlier Tuesday, but the bird managed to fly away.
