Water park vow renewal ceremony ends with water slide record attempt

A North Dakota couple renewed their vows at a Wisconsin water park and attempted a Guinness World Record for going down waterslides in wedding clothes.

Jon and Keisha Lakoduk are attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the most vow renewal ceremonies in 30 days, and have thus far held ceremonies in Idaho, Arizona, Las Vegas, North Dakota and Utah.

Their Tuesday ceremony in Wisconsin Dells took place atop a 60-foot water slide at the Land of Natura Water Park.

After exchanging vows, the couple took six trips down the slide in the ensuing hour to attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the most trips down a waterslide in a wedding dress in one hour.

“We go to where our family and friends are, and we’re just going to meet them where they’re at in the country,” Jon Lakoduk told WMTV. “We’ll come to you and spend three to four hours at least with you and have dinner. Instead of the normal five to 10 minutes you get at a normal wedding reception.”

The next stop on their wedding tour is a distillery in Kentucky. They are chronicling their stops on the Instagram account @weddingontour.
