A West Virginia animal shelter shared security camera footage of an escape artist dog getting out of his kennel, unlocking the front door and leaving.
The Huntington Cabell Wayne Animal Shelter posted a video to Facebook showing the Houdini-esque hound, named Dawson, escaping from his locked kennel while the shelter was closed.
“This guy is much smarter than he looks,” the post said.
The video shows Dawson approach the shelter’s front door, stand up on his hind legs and use his mouth to unlock the door.
Dawson then pushes the door open and leaves.
“This is NOT AI, though we wish it was,” officials wrote.
The shelter posted an update Wednesday revealing Dawson had been found safe.
