Loose goat moves into Massachusetts woman's yard

A loose goat has made himself at home in a Massachusetts woman’s yard, and police and animal control haven’t been able to wrangle him.

Darice Veiga said the goat, nicknamed Brady, first appeared in her backyard about 10 days ago. She said the animal appears friendly and harmless, but he has been making meals out of her flowers and fruit.

Police and animal control attempted to capture Brady, but his speed and agility led them to abandon their attempts.

Veterinarian Harry Mertz said Brady is likely a Nubian goat.

Nubian goats were developed in Britain in the 1800s by breeding locally native goats with lop-eared goats from India, the Middle Eastand North Africa. They are the most popular diary breed in the United States.

Authorities said they are working on coming up with a new plan to capture the goat, and they are hoping to find the animal’s owner.
