Traffic on a busy Ontario highway was interrupted when a cow wandered onto the busy road near Aurora, police said.
Ontario Provincial Police said on social media that officers from Aurora were summoned to Highway 400, just north of 6th Line, on a report of a cow in the roadway on Thursday.
“If you’re northbound on #Hwy400 near 4th Line, slow down and moooove over,” police wrote. “There’s a cow on the right shoulder. #AuroraOPP are on scene and diverting it to a side road off the highway.”
OPP said the cow was last seen heading towards the Innisfil area, and South Simcoe Police were called to help capture the animal.
The cow’s eventual fate on Thursday was unknown, but there were no injuries reported to humans or bovines.
