Firefighters in England responded to a call for “an animal in need of rescue” in Berkshire and ended up saving a pet lizard stranded high up in a tree.
The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said in a news release Tuesday that firefighters from Wokingham Fire Station responded to “reports of an animal in need of rescue on Hearn Road in Woodley” at about 7:35 p.m. on Friday.
The crew arrived to find a lizard was stranded on a high branch in a tree.
Firefighters scaled a ladder to reach the lizard’s location and brought it back down to solid ground.
The lizard was safely reunited with its owner. Firefighters were on the scene for about 41 minutes.
