Marvel and Disney+ surprised fans Wednesday by releasing a trailer for X-Men ’97 Season 2.
The show, a revival of X-Men: The Animated Series, which aired for five seasons from 1992 to 1997, will return for a second season July 1 on Disney+.
Season 2 opens with the X-Men, a team of Marvel Comics superheroes, “scattered through time” following the events of the Season 1 finale, released in May 2024.
Cyclops (voice of Ray Chase), Jean (Jennifer Hale), Nightcrawler (Adrian Hough), Beast (George Buza), Storm (Alison Sealy-Smith), Rogue (Lenore Zann), Professor X (Ross Marquand) and Magneto (Matthew Waterson) must work to return to the 1990s and stop Apocalypse.
Other voice cast members include A.J. LoCascio as Gambit and Cal Dodd as Wolverine.
Season 2 consists of nine episodes and premieres July 1 on Disney+.
