Writer-producer David E. Kelley is adapting Michael Connelly’s novel, Nightshade, as an HBO Max series.
No casting has been announced yet for the show, which will be called Welcome to Catalina.
Deadline.com said the first season is expected to include 15 episodes and will follow former Los Angeles County Sheriff’s detective as he is transferred to low-crime Catalina Island.
Connelly posted a screenshot of the report on his Instagram page.
The best-selling author’s work has already inspired the Netflix drama, The Lincoln Lawyer, and Prime Video’s Bosch, Bosch: Legacy and Ballard.
Kelley is known for his work on The Practice, Boston Legal, Ally McBeal, Big Little Lies, Big Sky, The Lincoln Lawyer and Margo’s Got Money Troubles.
