An Australian reptile wrangler came to the rescue of a venomous red-bellied black snake that found its way into a person’s house.
Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 said on social media that Stuart McKenzie responded to a Queensland home where “a homeowner got quite the fright when she noticed a decent sized black snake slithering through her house.”
The group shared video of McKenzie extracting the snake from its hiding spot next to a set of shelves.
“Definitely not what I want inside,” the resident can be heard saying in the footage.
“Beautiful red-belly,” McKenzie says in the video. “That’s about as healthy as they get.”
The snake initially struggles to avoid being placed in a bag for relocation, but is eventually safely contained without any injuries to humans or reptiles.
“He’s a bit spicy,” the resident says.
The video ends with McKenzie releasing the snake back into the wild.
