Firefighters in Connecticut conducted an unusual rescue involving a curious young goat that got its head stick in a utility trailer.
The Thompson Fire Engine Co. said on social media that crews responded Sunday night “to what can only be described as a highly unusual and emotionally charged rescue involving a young goat, a utility trailer, and what appeared to be a rapidly escalating horn-growth situation.”
The goat’s caretakers had found the with its head wedged in the steal framework of a utility trailer.
“Witnesses reported that it appeared the goat’s horns had somehow grown considerably during the ordeal, (not really but sounded good at the time) making escape increasingly difficult and raising questions that local biologists have yet to answer,” the post said.
Firefighters used specialized tools to remove a section of steel iron angle and free the goat.
“Once freed, the patient immediately resumed normal goat activities and reportedly accepted hugs and affection from rescuers, caretakers, and anyone else willing to provide attention. No injuries were reported to the goat, firefighters or public pride,” officials wrote.
