An Ohio man who stuck with the same set of lottery numbers for 22 years found his persistence rewarded with a $3.5 million jackpot.
The Akron man told Ohio Lottery officials he kept using the same six numbers — 6-8-16-20-26-45 — to play Classic Lotto drawings for 22 years, despite winning only small prizes occasionally, because he is “stubborn.”
The man’s ticket for the Feb. 4 drawing, purchased from The Mapco store on Brown Street in Akron, finally delivered him a $3.5 million jackpot.
The winner said he immediately recognized his numbers in the drawing results, and already has big plans, including buying a new house and installing a home gym.
“We’re going to get a really big pool,” he said.
