A North Carolina woman said her $100,000 prize from a scratch-off lottery ticket arrived at just the right time: she just bought a house.
Charlotte resident Yolanda Black told North Carolina Education Lottery officials she bought a $20 Stacks of Cash ticket from Cigarettes & More on Pineville-Matthews Road in Charlotte shortly after closing on her new home.
The ticket turned out to be a $100,000 winner.
“I jumped for joy,” Black said. “Then I told my husband.”
She said the money comes at the perfect time.
“I just bought a new home,” she said. “Someone told me, ‘New home, new money.'”
Black said her prize money will go toward furnishing the new house.
