A Maryland woman scored a $100,000 prize from a scratch-off lottery ticket about 14 years after winning $50,000 from a Maryland Lottery drawing.
The Hyattsville woman, identified only as Cheryl, told Maryland Lottery officials she stopped at the Town Center Market on Queensbury Road in Riverdale to pick up some lottery tickets while on her way to a nearby bingo game.
Cheryl said she scratched off her tickets during a break in the bingo game and discovered one of them, a $5,000,000 Fortune ticket, was a $100,000 winner.
She said the lottery win was especially surprising because she had won $50,000 from a Bonus Match 5 drawing in August 2012.
Cheryl said her latest winnings will go toward paying some bills, making home renovations and taking a vacation.
