New Mexico State Police closed a section of highway in the East Mountains when a horse was spotted wandering loose in the roadway.
The state police said officers responded Monday when the horse was reported on Interstate 40, near Carnuel.
Police said the horse’s origins were not clear, but they suspect it may have fallen out of a trailer.
Witness Linda Churchley captured video of the equine being taken into custody by responders.
Police said the horse was captured safely and the roadway was reopened.
