HBO is gearing up for the release of House of the Dragon Season 3.

The network shared a teaser trailer for the season Monday featuring Emma D’Arcy and Matt Smith.

House of the Dragon is based on the George R.R. Martin book Fire & Blood, which recounts the history of the Targaryens, a noble house in the world of Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire.

The series is set about 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and imagines the war of succession known as the “Dance of the Dragons.”

The Season 3 preview hints at “doom and ruin” as Rhaenyra Targaryen (D’Arcy) attempts to claim the Iron Throne with the help of her husband, Daemon (Smith). Meanwhile, the sitting king, Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney), seeks revenge on his brother, Aemond (Ewan Mitchell).

Other cast members include Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole, Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon and James Norton as Ormund Hightower.

House of the Dragon Season 3 premieres June 21 on HBO and HBO Max.

Other upcoming Game of Thrones projects include the film Aegon’s Conquest.
