Police in California were called to a Murrieta neighborhood where “an adventurous cow took an unauthorized stroll in the roadway.”
The Murrieta Police Department said on social media that the cow escaped from its pasture while its owner’s were out of town and went for a walk in the road.
The post included a video of the cow calmly strolling through the street while officers worked to protect the animal from traffic.
Police said the cow was turned over to a neighbor for care until its owners return home.
“No injuries, no charges — just a brief case of beef with traffic,” police joked. “All is well — case closed, pasture bedtime.”
