Sheriff’s deputies in Colorado responded to a “reported break-in” and arrived to find the home still occupied by the culprits: a pair of bear cubs.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office posted a video to social media showing the two bear cubs deputies found ransacking the inside of a Roxborough home and feasting on cat food.
The post said deputies arrived on the scene and “discovered two non-traditional suspects: two curious sibling bear cubs who had climbed through an open window to explore the house.”
Colorado Parks & Wildlife personnel responded to the scene and helped deputies escort the baby bruins out of the home and back into the nearby woods.
“Please stay bear aware! We’ve had several bear run-ins lately. Help prevent bear visits by securing trash, bringing in bird feeders, keeping pet food indoors and locking lower‑level doors and windows,” officials wrote.
