A Different World veterans Dawnn Lewis and Glynn Turman have joined the ensemble of the classic sitcom’s sequel.
Also announced Wednesday as co-stars for the re-boot are Tichina Arnold, Joshua Suiter and Raven Goodwin.
Original cast members Kadeem Hardison, Jasmine Guy, Darryl M. Bell and Cree Summer were previously confirmed as returning for the show.
Debbie Allen, who directed 83 episodes of the original series, will executive produce and direct the new version, while Felicia Pride serves as show-runner.
“When Deborah, Dwayne Wayne, and Whitley Gilbert’s free-spirited, well-intentioned, yet rebellious youngest child, enters her freshman year at Hillman College, she finds the shadow of her parents difficult to escape as she sets out to build her own legacy, while having the time of her life, alongside a whole new generation of Hillman’s best and brightest,” a synopsis said.
A Different World was a spin-off of The Cosby Show that ran from 1987 to 1993.
