David Boreanaz, who has one of the longest and most successful careers in TV history, is set to star in a remake of the classic private eye drama, The Rockford Files.
“Grateful. Thank you James, GiGi and NBC,” Boreanaz wrote on Instagram Thursday, alongside a media report about his casting news.
Mike Daniels is penning the pilot for the contemporary reboot, which will be produced by Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly.
The original show starred James Garner as Jim Rockford. It ran from 1974 to 1980.
Boreanaz, 56, is best known for his roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Bones and SEAL Team.
The Gigi mentioned in Boreanaz’s post is Garner’s daughter.
