Law & Order: Organized Crime star Christopher Meloni thanked fans Friday following news of the show’s cancellation.
Meloni, 65, played Det. Elliot Stabler on the Law & Order: SVU spinoff for five seasons after portraying the character in the first 12 seasons of SVU.
“I wanted to take this moment to say thank you to the fans who not only helped give the character of Elliot Stabler life and longevity, but for sticking with him and welcoming him back,” the actor said in a video on Instagram.
“Good ride. It was a good ride. Had a great time playing him … but thank you. You helped give me a career that I never dreamed of [for] 17-odd years,” he added.

Hargitay showed her support for Meloni in the comments, writing, “P4L,” a possible reference to “Partners for Life” or the Outer Banks phrase “Pogues for Life.”
The actress still stars as Benson on SVU and made guest appearances as her character throughout Organized Crime’s run.
Organized Crime aired its first four seasons on NBC and was shown on both NBC and Peacock for Season 5. The Season 5 finale aired in June 2025.
