A Michigan woman won $700 from an online lottery game and her decision to keep going resulted in her winning a $100,000 prize.
The 80-year-old Wayne County woman told Michigan Lottery officials her lucky night started with boredom.
“I was bored one night after my husband went to bed, so I logged on to my lottery account to play some games,” the player said. “The Firework Fortune Frenzy game looked fun and easy, so I deposited money and started playing.”
She found early luck with the game.
“Right off the bat I won around $700, so I used my winnings to play some more and played a higher wager. I was getting ready to call it quits and log out when the screen lit up showing a $100,000 prize! I woke my husband up and told him, but he didn’t believe me, so I ended up calling the lottery to make sure it was real,” the winner said.
The woman said her winnings will go toward taking a trip and bolstering her savings.
