A group of volunteers cleaning a beach in England gathered up unusual pieces of litter including a wig and a spark plug.
The Plastic Free Watchet environmental group, part of the wider Plastic Free Communities in West Somerset group, held a cleaning event at Watchet Beach with about 65 members and volunteers. Advertisement
The group said the cleaners picked up pieces of trash of all sizes, and some of the items gave them pause.
The most unusual items collected included a wig, a sandal, a boot missing its sole, a spark plug, a pair of headphones and a plastic figurine of a character from the Wombles children’s books and TV series.
The family who found the Womble were awarded a metal water bottle for making the strangest discovery of the clean-up day.
