The Shards, a series adaptation of the Bret Easton Ellis novel, is coming to FX and Hulu in August.
FX shared a first-look photo and Aug. 5 premiere date for the teen drama Wednesday.
Created by Ellis and Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story), The Shards is a thriller inspired by Ellis’ final year at an elite Los Angeles prep school. The story follows a fictionalized version of Ellis, the author of American Psycho, who becomes obsessed with the idea that a new student is the serial killer known as the “Trawler.”
Homer Gere, Graham Campbell, Hayes Warner, Wes Bentley and Kaia Gerber also star.
“Set against the vivid backdrop of 1980s Los Angeles, the series follows a group of high school seniors at an elite prep school as they navigate identity, sex, jealously, obsession and the dangers lurking beneath the surface of American adolescence,” an official synopsis reads.
