Police in Michigan came to the rescue of a deer that wound up with its antlers tethered to a tree branch as a result of an encounter with a dangling rope.
The Livonia Police Department said on social media that a resident contacted authorities to report a deer “entangled in a rope hanging from a tree in her yard.” Advertisement
Livonia Animal Control personnel were unavailable, so police officers set about the process of freeing the trapped animal.
“Thinking outside the box, the officers used a pole saw to safely free the deer,” the department said.
