A 3-foot tall miniature Scottish Highland bull escaped from a Connecticut farm and has been repeatedly spotted several miles from home.

Kit Sullivan, owner of Sullivan Brothers Farm in Franklin, said the bull, Lefty, had only just arrived at the farm when he was spooked by another bull and managed to squeeze underneath a barbed wire fence that had been designed for larger bovines.

Nearby residents have shared photos and videos of the wayward bull on social media, and he has been spotted as far away as downtown Norwich, about 7 miles from Sullivan’s farm.

“He’s very hard to find, just because the weeds are taller than him, and he’s orange colored, so he blends right in with all the leaves down on the ground,” Sullivan told CT Insider. “He’s friendly, but he’s skittish around people he doesn’t really know.”

The owner is asking neighbors to continue reporting Lefty sightings in the hopes the bull can be brought home safely.

“The people in the neighborhood have just been awesome. They’ve been on the lookout, they’ve been calling me,” Sullivan said. “I don’t think anybody really wants people running around in the backyard, but they’ve been really nice about it. Hopefully, one day when we catch him, we can have a meet and greet at my farm, and everybody can give him a treat.”
