A North Carolina woman said she and her husband will finally be able to take a honeymoon after 31 years of marriage thanks to a $1 million lottery prize.
Holly Springs resident Cheryl Bach told North Carolina Education Lottery officials she bought a $10 Million Spectacular scratch-off ticket from the Harris Teeter on Village Walk Drive in Holly Springs and was shocked to uncover a $1 million prize.
“I had to put my glasses on to make sure I was seeing it right,” Bach said.
Bach called her husband to share the good news.
“He didn’t believe me,” she said. “I had to take a picture to show him.”
Bach, who has been married for 31 years, said the prize money will allow the couple to celebrate a long-delayed milestone.
“I’m going to take a vacation with my husband that will finally be our honeymoon,” she said. “I haven’t decided where yet.”
