A Virginia woman found storing her lottery ticket in her Bible to be a lucky move when she scored a $1 million prize in Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle.

Jacqueline Mangus told Virginia Lottery officials she tucked her raffle ticket away in her Bible after buying it at Lake Mart & Deli on Scruggs Road in Moneta. Advertisement

Mangus said she was watching the news recently and learned a ticket bought in Moneta was a $1 million winner, so she retrieved her ticket from its holy hiding place.

She told officials she was “tickled to death” to discover the $1 million ticket was in her hands.

Mangus did not reveal whether she has any plans for her winnings.
