A Virginia woman cleaning her house found a box of lottery tickets in her closet — and one of them turned out to be a $100,000 winner.
Alfreda Hawkins told Virginia Lottery officials she was doing some cleaning around her Richmond home when she found a box in a closet containing some unscratched lottery tickets.
She soon discovered one of the tickets, a $100,000 Extreme Cash game, was a $100,000 top prize winner.
“I almost passed out,” Hawkins said. “It was amazing!”
The ticket was purchased from the Shop & Go store on Mechanicsville Turnpike in Richmond.
Hawkins said she does not yet have any plans for her winnings.
