The DC Lottery said 438 winning tickets were sold for a DC 4 drawing where the numbers came up 4-4-4-4 for the second time this year.
DC Lottery officials said the 1:50 p.m. drawing Sunday marked the second time the number combination has been drawn in DC 4 this year, after the 1:50 p.m. drawing on Feb. 4 resulted in 416 tickets scoring cash prizes. Advertisement
Tickets for DC 4, which cost 50-cents each, can win prizes ranging from $100 to $5,000.
Officials said the most recent 4-4-4-4 drawing is expected to result in a combined payout of $1,058,020, while the previous one ended up with $999,010 worth of prizes being claimed.
“Number combinations with the same four digits are often called ‘quads’ and are a popular choice among DC Lottery players,” the lottery said in a news release.
