Loose goat leads authorities on a 20-minute chase in Wash.

A small goat spotted running in and out of Washington state traffic led deputies on “a wild foot pursuit” before being cornered on an outdoor staircase.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said on social media that deputies and animal control personnel were summoned to the area of Pacific Lutheran University around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on a report of “a loose goat weaving in and out of traffic.”

Officials wrote the goat led responders “on a wild foot pursuit.”

“One deputy even attempted to communicate with the runaway by speaking what he believed was ‘goat language.’ Unfortunately, the goat wasn’t impressed,” the post said.

The deputies and animal control officers were able to corner the goat on an outdoor staircase after about 20 minutes.

“The adventurous goat was transported to a local rescue farm, where it will be cared for while Animal Control works to locate its owner,” the sheriff’s office said.
