“The Grey’s Anatomy universe is expanding! We’ve officially got a brand-new spin-off in the works, co-created by Shonda Rhimes and current Grey’s showrunner Meg Marinis,” the production company said in an Instagram post Wednesday.
“The series is ‘an edgy drama about a team at a rural West Texas medical center — the last chance for care before miles of nowhere.'”
No casting has been announced yet.
The flagship show has been renewed for a 23rd season.
It previously spawned the spin-offs Private Practice, Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy: B Team.
