The stars of The Gilded Age say fans should expect some “juicy” developments in Season 4.

In a video released Thursday, Carrie Coon, Louisa Jacobson, Christine Baranski and other cast members announced the start of production on the new season and teased the upcoming episodes.

The Gilded Age is a historical drama from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes. Set in the late 19th century in New York City, the show centers on new money social climber Bertha Russell (Coon) and Marian Brook (Jacobson), the niece of old money sisters Agnes (Baranski) and Ada (Cynthia Nixon).

Season 4 will find “everything Bertha has built” thrust into “a very precarious position,” according to Coon.

“There are really startling plot developments,” Nixon added.

When asked to describe the season in one word, the cast members’ responses included “sexy,” “ruthless,” “juicy,” “fabulous” and “thrilling.”

The Gilded Age Season 4 premieres on HBO and HBO Max in the fall.
