Dennis Quaid’s Happy Face true-crime series is set to premiere March 20 on Paramount+.

Tony Award winner Annaleigh Ashford plays Melissa Moore, daughter of Keith Jesperson, the man known as the Happy Face Killer (Quaid) for murdering at least eight women in the United States in the early 1990s. Advertisement

A minute-long teaser released on Monday shows Moore reuniting with her estranged, incarcerated father as she tries to prove an innocent man is going to be executed for a crime that Jesperson committed.

James Wolk, Tamera Tomakili, Khiyla Aynne and Benjamin Mackey co-star in the eight-episode series, which is based on the Happy Face podcast and Reed’s book, Shattered Silence.

Moore is an executive producer on the project, alongside showrunner Jennifer Cacicio, whose credits include Shooter and Your Honor.
