An impromptu rodeo broke out in a Denver park after an escaped cow made its way into the city from a nearby suburb.
Lakewood Police said calls started to come in about a cow on the loose in the West Mississippi Avenue and South Sheridan Boulevard about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The cow wandered Lakewood for a time before being spotted in Denver about 3 a.m.
Denver Police responded and were able to herd the cow into the fenced soccer field at Garfield Lake Park.
Witnesses captured photos as police then worked to get control of the bovine and load it into a trailer.
The cow’s origins are unclear, but a Lakewood Police spokesman said some of the larger properties in the area are known to keep livestock.
