A Virginia woman scored a $2 million lottery prize thanks to a store clerk who mistakenly gave her the wrong ticket.
Carrollton resident Kelly Lindsay told Virginia Lottery officials she was initially unhappy when a clerk at Race Way Carrollton on Carrollton Boulevard handed her a Money Blitz scratch-off ticket instead of the ticket she wanted. Advertisement
Linsday took the ticket out to the parking lot and scratched it off, revealing a $2 million top prize.
“And I got over not being happy about it,” Lindsay said.
Lindsay chose to receive her prize as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,250,000 before taxes.
