A binturong, an Asian animal also known as a bearcat, escaped from a zoo in England for a weekend adventure before returning to the facility on her own Monday.
The animal, named Suki, was noticed missing Thursday from her enclosure at The Fenn Bell Conservation Project on the Hoo Peninsula in Kent, England.
Zoo staff conducted a days-long search of the area with a team of volunteers and heat-detecting drones, but wasn’t located until returning to the zoo on her own Monday morning.
“Suki is currently being evaluated by the team and our vet, but will hopefully be reunited with her sister Kiki soon,” the zoo said on social media.

Binturongs, native to South and Southeast Asia, are listed as vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List of Threatened Species. The animals are also known as bearcats, but are not closely related to bears or cats. They are in the viverrid family, which also includes civets.
