Bachelor universe alum Joe Amabile has announced on Instagram that he is battling a brain tumor, but optimistic about his prognosis.
“This past month has been a lot of ups and downs to say the least. After multiple scans and MRIs I have what looks to be an early stage brain tumor,” Amabile said in his social-media post Monday.
“In two weeks I’ll be undergoing a craniotomy to have it removed — yeah brain surgery — @memorialsloanketteringI’m doing my best to stay positive during this time and am lucky to have a lot of support from family and friends,” he added. “I’ve gone back and forth about what I wanted to share on social media but ultimately this is now part of my life now, so might as well. Onto a new journey.”
Amabile, 40, appeared on Season 14 of The Bachelorette in 2018, then Seasons 5 and 7 of Bachelor in Paradise.
He has been married to his Paradise cast-mate Serena Pitt, 28, since 2022.
