Indiana animal control officers came to the rescue of a husky named Aurora who chased a squirrel up a tree and became stranded on a branch.
Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control said on social media that two officers responded to a call about a dog stranded in a tree in her owner’s yard.
“Aurora chased a squirrel up the tree in her backyard and then realized how high up she was and could not get down on her own,” the post said. “Her worried owners attempted to lure her down but quickly realized they needed help.”
Officials wrote one of the officers “was able to use his catch pole to gently loop Aurora and guide her slowly down the tree with a lot of words of encouragement.”

The husky was not injured and “was ecstatic” to be reunited with her owner on solid ground.
