Netflix is introducing its A Different World sequel series.
The streaming service shared a teaser and a September premiere date for the show Friday.
A Different World stars Maleah Joi Moon as Deborah Wayne, the daughter of Dwayne Wayne (Kadeem Hardison) and Whitley Gilbert (Jasmine Guy) from the original series.
Alijah Kai, Chibuikem Uche, Cornell Young IV, Jordan Aaron Hall and Kennedi Reece will also star in the upcoming show, which returns viewers to the fictional HBCU Hillman College in Virginia.
The original Different World was a spinoff of the Cosby Show that premiered on NBC in 1987 and focused on Denise Huxtable (Lisa Bonet). Hardison and Guy became the leads following Bonet’s exit from the series.
Netflix’s A Different World has finished filming in Atlanta and will premiere Sept. 24.
“It is such an honor to be a part of bringing back this iconic show, one that I grew up on and which had a profound impact on my life,” showrunner and executive producer Felicia Pride told Netflix’s Tudum.
